The San Francisco Bay Area Council (BAC) originated in the 1950s as a forum for local Alpha Chi Omega alumnae to share ideas and support collegiate chapters. In the 1970s, turbulent civic and campus events drove the BAC to create an environment for alumnae support as well. The first social gathering was an annual Reunion Luncheon held in Jack London Square. With very few changes, it's been happening ever since.

In more recent years, the BAC introduced a collegiate Scholarship Award, courtesy of a major donation from the Barbara MacGregor family. This award is maintained by annual contributions to the scholarship fund from each local alumnae chapter, proceeds from

our annual raffle, and ticket proceeds from the annual Reunion Luncheon. Our Alumna Appreciation Award honors the women working to keep Alpha Chi Omega strong in the Bay Area.

The Bay Area Council is happy to be part of Alpha Chi Omega's presence in the Bay Area. Our Web site will provide you with detailed information about San Francisco Bay Area alumnae chapters and events. (Including our next Reunion Luncheon.) More information about Alpha Chi Omega can be found at national headquarters, where you may click through to "Alpha Chi Links" to connect with other alumnae.

Visit the San Francisco Bay Area Council site often--and give Alpha Chi a call!
